HL2 extended video
 

Anyone grabbed the 600MB HL2 video from GameArena? Do it - it's awesome. If you can't get thru, let me know and I'll host it on our server temporarily.

I wasn't able to get through when I did try... will try again tonight.


Half Life 2 is looking to be awesome with the technologies. It may not be as graphically pretty as doom3 - but the whole package + mod development will be amazing.

AND Team Fortress 2 - OMG OMG OMG! Vapourware..... hahahah not anymore!

Day of Defeat 2, Counterstrike 2, Natural Selection 2.... mmmm those mods with Full vehicle support :)

too large for me atm.

TF2 . . . about bloody time!

and no more flying medics! sure it was fun but it made for crap gameplay once any fool could do it.

don't knock the graphics until you see the movie, although I think it does still look a tad more "cartooney" than Doom3. Also the physics engine is amazing. Even the AI looks good.

In other news - wc3 expansion has gone gold :)

thau - make sure you login as a BigPond user so you can access the additional ftp server slots reserved for us.

I was logged in as a Bigpond user mud :) 130/128 slots were taken for the Bigpond section alone!....


I'm not picky on graphics though - gameplay over graphics any day! A nice mix is good though :P

Awesome grabbing it now, wanna see it bad - hopefully TF2 will get us back into the swing of things, cause I've really been reminissing lately about TFC wars etc. and how good it all was! And I can picture TF2 clan wars without having even seen it and they seem awesome lol.

Finally got to view it!

I have seen a lot of it before - but put as a whole it's very very very impressive! Next generation of games... AND mods...

And September!!! not too far away!!!

I can't view it, got Quicktime, but it still says I don't have the correct codec! I hate crap like that, I've got files that I used to be able to view (other than HL2) and for some of those I also get codec errors, but I haven't changed anything and suddenly I can't play them. Does anyone have a bunch of codecs, like a big pack filled with codecs? I'd love something like that so I could view some old files (lots are of home-made rally action from my uncle's farm which I would love to watch again) ffs so annoying lol.

Just redownload quicktime shady - get the latest version (6) i think.

Failing that...... have you got divx? Only other thing I could think of.

Because all i've got is quicktime 5 installed after my format and it worked fine (with divx installed as well).


Trust me - it's worth it :P

got divx, mpeg4x (or something) plenty of codecs already but somehow there's some i don't have that I used to but how I don't have them anymore I don't know.

The only codecs you ever need installed.
Divx 3.11
Divx 5
Xvid
Mpeg II codec (either from software DVD player software or Empgenc)

Besides that sometimes you might need Quicktime/Real player for streaming (yuck)

Yeah shady I think TF2 just might bring back some of the oldies.

For example if Fook isn't back here by Christmas I say we all go round to his house and sing carols outside his lounge room window.

Watched the video, and fuck it looks amazing! I love the interaction, Splinter Cell is good with it, but this is just sensational!

Can't wait for this now!
