The Return of Para's Movie Reviews. This time - Batman Begins.

Wow.

All I can say is WOW.

Every once in awhile, a movie comes around that complete blows you away. You know the kind, a movie that you could simply watch from start to finish over and over again?

For me, Batman Begins is one of those films. Let's look at it ParaStyle(TM).

The movie follows the story of Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale), the youngest son in Gotham City's richest family. Bruce's mother and father brought him up to value life and to treat all people equally, regardless of their background or socio-economic status.

When Bruce was a young child, his parents were shot dead by a street criminal by the name of Joe Chill. Seeing this had quite an effect on young Bruce, and when he gets older he decides to jetset around the globe in an attempt to learn more about the criminal underworld, and how they work. After being busted on a heist, Bruce is sent to a prison, and it is there he meets a man called "Ducart" (Liam Neeson). Ducart informs Bruce that he reprsents a man named Ra's Al Ghul (Ken Watanabe), and that this man is greatly feard by the criminal underworld. Ducart explains that Ra's can offer Bruce a path, a path on which he can learn to punish injustice, and cause his enemies to fear him. Naturally with nothing to lose, Bruce takes him up on the offer.

Six years later, Bruce returns to Gotham and vows to fight the enemies of Gotham using a Symbol...something terifying; something elemental. Guess what he chooses?

I really cannot fault anything about this movie. THe cast was incredible (except for Katie Holmes, who like Lindsey Lohan should just shut up and stand there) and the soundtrack was brilliant (when the soundtrack comes out, Track 10 - Molossus. It's awesome). One of the BEST things I can say about this movie, is that they actually go to the trouble of explaining how Batman becomes what he is, and exactly how the equipment he uses works, etc...it's almost like they tried to make the movie realistic. In a way, they succeeded.

One final point: the mantle of the best Batman ever now belongs to Bale. He brought a whole new ferocity to the Dark Knight...it was brilliant.

Like I said, I really can't fault this movie at all. If I remember my ratings system...

5 = Explosive's Mum
4 = Zsink's Llama
3 = Mojo's Monkey
2 = Um...can't remember.
1 = No idea here either...

This movie is easily worthy of an Explosive's Mum. If you haven't seen this yet, GO AND SEE IT.

I thought it was quite good, but not THAT good.

Certainly a nice change from the last few movies... suitably dark and explanatory, with bits of humour thrown in.

Yup, we need a review of that, goon.

I'd give a review of it if...

a) Lindsay Lohan didn't speak

b) Lindsay Lohan didn't try to act

c) They didn't use tricks to take Lindsay's breast size down a whole cup, as well as make her zip up the racing suit fully.

If those 3 problems didn't exist, I'd go see it.
