General Mud's first experience in the DAOC Battlegrounds

DAOC speak (I'm still learning):
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nail (eld) and I (mana enc) ported out of DL to BG. Nail told me to turn off torch. We ran across HB and found hib had CK. There was no-one nearby, so we checked out Alb PK and Mid PK. A friendly hib appeared who thought we were albs and was about to gank us. We kept checking - not a soul anywhere to be seen. We decided to leave. Nail decided the quickest way was to run straight at the alb pk and let the fire wizards single shot us. I killed my caster pet and summoned a healer pet, just for kicks. Just as we were about to run up to the alb pk, a red++ mid inf troll appeared from nowhere and mezzed (I think?) Nail. I tried to cast my stun but he interripted twice and came after me. He kept stunning and melee'ing - bad move. I kept running and my pet kept healing me. I couldn't see behind me but all the while I guess my pet and nail were wailing on him. I nearly made it to the river, but he caught me with a snare that finally stuck and I died. About 1s later, nail took him down. In retrospect, I should have quickcast a stun then pbaoe.
Ordinary Human Version:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We teleported out of the Hibernia realm into the realm-vs-realm entry-level battleground. Starting at our keep, we ran across a bridge to the central keep, which Hibnernia was holding at the time. Nail told me to turn off my night light as it was making my face glow like a giant neon target. We came across one other friendly hibernia player who nearly mistook us for enemies. We all scouted around but couldn't find any action at all. We decided to leave. Nail reckoned the quickest way was to suicide by charging the albion keep, which is defended by computer-controlled players. I killed off my summoned creature and summoned one that specialises in healing me and my group. Just as we were about to charge the albion keep, a higher-level midgaard invisible player appeared and cast a spell on nail that put him to sleep briefly. He then decided to go after me. He kept casting stun spells which mostly didn't seem to work, while chasing me and bashing me with his axe. My pet was continually healing me, keeping my health around 1/4 most of the time. I tried to run to the river, where i thought the summoned creature would get the better of him, but he snared me before I got there and killed me. I guess while this was going on, the pet would have been attacking him as well as Nail raining death on him. All the time, Nail was screaming "RUN RUN RUN IN CIRCLES AHAHAH". Shortly after I died, Nail killed the attacker. I realised later I should have used slightly different tactics and we might have taken him down much earlier.

Hahaha.

Welcome to realm vs realm mud. It can be frustrating as you learn, but it can also be extremely fun.

Me, nail, ape and rawzor (nsplayer admin) last night went for a run in the frontiers (the high lvl keep and relic areas of daoc reserved usually for lvl 45+ characters). We are all lvl 35 except for raw who is lvl 24.

I arrived late only to have to resurrect ape, nail and raw who got smashed by a level 50 (top lvl in daoc) midgard bitch. So once they are all up and running we venture out into midgard territory and come accross this lvl 50 just standing there. Being the opportunist we are we start smashing the shit out of the afk player and get her down to half health before her lvl 50 warrior buddy appears to save her. He puts some guard shiznit on so he blocks all attacks we make on her, forcing us to go for him.

We'll for a level 50 he fuckin sucked. We nearly killed him and if it wasn't for the bitch he was with - who was not actually afk, but his second account BUFF BOT character who kept healing him we could have smashed him.

We're just cut we didn't get his BUFF BOT before he came back, as we could have been promoted like 15 fuckin levels for killing a lvl 50 at lvl 35. Fuckin hilarious watching raw who is level 24, putting a level 50 warrior to sleep with mesmerise though.

It's called - "LIGHTNING BOLT, LIGHTNING BOLT"

Otherwise known as:-

"Give me back my Wizard Hat, you little fucking green pixie"

or

"Pardon me night ranger, Could I interest you in a level 12 onyx butt-plug to go with your studded leather cod piece?"

It's Dark Age of Camelot, FF. It's a mmorpg. You have to pay by the month unfortunately, but aside from that it seems quite good.
