Brag ZERO Attendance updated!!!!

A miracle happened and I FINALLY got the Attendance Page updated!!!!! http://zero.qgl.org/main.php?zero=attendance

I'm planning to make more changes to layout of it soon, so let me know what u do or don't like about it

Also, if you run a session like a war or prac, pls let me know who shows up, and who lets you know if they can't come - so I can update the attendance page

Looking at the page was really interesting to me - basically only 8 zero's show up regularly - and A BIG FAT WELL DONE to Slaidey for showing us what can be done - 14 out of 16 sessions!!!! massive effort Slaide!!!!

I'll be updating the active/inactive/samurai statuses based on this attendance info soonishly

I'm considering that ppl must attend at least 2 out of the last 16 or so sessions to be "active" - do u think that's reasonable, let me know what u think

so what does it take to be a samurai?
attending at least 10 in every 16 sessions? using voice com most of the time? being one of the higher skilled players? is that all right?

hmmmmm.... I checked the info I was given and u weren't at the war on 9/10/02 - which I think was a 5 person war and there were 5 ppl that showed.

Did u show up but weren't required due to there being enuff ppl? If so, then yes u should be counted as attending cos u were there

I need to know not just who plays in wars, but who gives previous notice that they can't make it (apology) and who else attended but waited on the side as a backup

Doubt is keen to get that updated too - he's been asking about his access etc, but AFAIK we all have access to update wars once logged into the site

yeah that's close DF, except for the skill part - it was all about ppl being committed enuff and showing up to wars and things and having stable PC's with working comm's.

But the idea didn't really take off - those that wanted to be samurai's really don't play enuff, and those that did play enuff didn't want to be samurai's, or at least didn't want to wear the tag.

Bearing that in mind, and now this attendance info is more up to date - I'm thinking we should change it so that ppl become samurai's automatically when they attend at least say 10 out of the last 20 sessions, but they don't have to wear the tag, and there's no expectations on them - just a name to distinguish the fact they put in the effort to be an active part of the team.

Then I figure the "active" ppl would be those that attend say at least 2 or 3 sessions in the last 20, and the rest be inactive.

That means we can really depend on only the samurai's showing up, and then maybe only half of them at any time, so no wonder we struggle to get enuff ppl for wars and prac's - so I think we need more ZERO's!!!!

I brought up needing more zero's a while back, as I'd seen what that attendance table is now showing. I like your idea about having samurai be a tag that is automatically attributed to a member to show they are active and contributing. (And especially the bit about not having to wear it, hehe - I like being [zero] Doubt).

I checked the 'news' area, I can add to that Rem, you're right.

I'd poll and find out what method if being informed about wars people prefer, but best just to send ICQ/email/forums and site.

Also - could I get you all to ICQ me your MSN if you use it, so that I can add you, I only have about 6 at the moment.

Doubt :satan:

okies... seems everyone is happy with that then... so unless anyone has some more suggestions - we'll go with this:

samurai's are those that attend at least 10 out of the last 20 sessions - and use of the samurai tag is optional - currently 8 ppl (i'll put Dark_Flash in this category now cos i'm sure he'll be in it shortly)

"actives" attend at least 3 out of the last 20 sessions - currently 3 ppl

inactives attend less than 3 in the last 20 - and over half the clan (14) now fall in this bucket!!!!

i've updated the statuses on the member list to reflect this now too

lastly - i've finished the attendance page now - and i'll enter in the history of previous sessions when i get time... u can scroll back to June now
