Default No Broadband for me.

Hey all,

Im changing address and moving house in the next 3 weeks.

As a result I will have no broad band for CS fraggin' on Tuesday and Friday Nights.

I havent decided yet as to whether Im moving in the same suburb or all the way to Canberra for good.

Either way I wont be on any Cable or ADSL connection for at least 2 months.

As any of you may have tried dial of late - IT REALLY SUCKS arse!

Either way. I will return to whip kick the Biscuit biach back into his CS corner

with all u can eat plans for little money each month?

my telstra cable is excellent for me ..... and i'm betting optus these days is much of a muchness with it (except optus has the much better option of bandwidth limiting once your monthly usage is up)..... so is cable in canberra any different? maybe it's better cos of all the politicians being there - it gets a focus and lots of $$$ cos of the dollar density they have? lol bly - if u go to canberra, you would have the most experience with ISP 's than anyone i know!

You bet your isp arse on that rem.

I have sofar had.

1) IDX Dial-up
2) Telstra cable - When it was good for leeching
3) Optus cable - netstats and pr0n dont mix (Shut up oro
4) Telstra Dial-up - Its not too bad.
5) Internode 1500/256 ADSL

I dont know whos next Canberra Cable?

I followed the holy grail of ISPs that allowed the most leeching.

Blyth is definately ahead of my experience.

1. Ninemsn / aol I think dail-up (I can't remember, it had its intra-web with special content, like startrek.com (before it became open).
2. Chilli Internet (small time Bondi ISP)
3. Telstra Cable (1 month of uncapped and unlimited data, too bad i didn't know what was "on" the real internet)
4. Optus Netstats
5. Tel Pacific ADSL

I will probably do *something* once the CHURN process is totally up and running and everything.

lol u guys are such leeches!

I've had 3 dialup ISP's - the last one was bigpond, and i'm still with them altho i don't use it (telstra staff get bigpond dialup 30 hrs for free), and of course i subscribed to wireplay direct dial until i got cable, then once i had telstra cable that was it!!!

I recently upgraded to the 3gb plan, but every month i only use just over 1gb, so i'm looking for ways to increase my usage to make it worthwhile being on 3gb..... i downloaded 800mb over the weekend, but it was all from free sites then i started sucking heaps of mp3's via kazaalite, and now i'm at about 1.2 gb hahaahaha!!! hopefully after tuesday and friday i might be at an all time record of 1.5gb!!!!!

Rem,

U and I need to chat about that extra gigs you dont use.

I have about 50 Gig of MP3s and cause u and i are about the same fossil age that 80 gig hard drive is a rock and pop gold mine of Jackson Brown to Don Henly to Hall and Oats (complete set of albums) to Neil Diamond, not to mention the one hit wonders like Little Heros, Johnny Hates Jazz, Mondo Rock, The Romantics, Loverboy.

I cant find any Macinations songs anywhere?

And if any of u younger zeros say anything about the above music choices, you will be locked in the zero tourcher room and be forced to listen to the best of Marylin Monroe album I have )

Last count I had about 10,000 tracks and about 290+ complete albums.
(** For the MP3's nazi's they are all public releases.)

If you every have another Zero lan, it could be good time to take a look.

Episodes, yes I watch old ones quite a bit actually, well generally just the ones that catch my attention. =)

Thats why I don't download the crappy pre-airs, only the quality material...
With pre-airs (vcds from the likes of ftv & ffn) you can't watch them more than once.... really, the quality is pretty poor.

but id rather focus on whats going on than constantly reading the subtitles, even if it is a more pure form.

Here is the update.... And its not good news...

I am moving to Canberra on Monday the 22nd.

Unfortunately the unit I'm moving into will not allow an ADSL connection, the entire block is on a Pair Gain phone system, so that means even dial up is slower, like 2.5KBps.

As a result I may try ISDN but the chances are slim that this type of Pair Gain system will allow ISDN type connections. That will give me 7KBps and will be enough for a decent ping.

It a blessing in desgise really, I need to get away from this pc and the internet in general, I spend toooo much of my time leeching and playing games. Me is getting a life!

I will still go to lans in Canberra and Sydeny (SGL rocks), but this black duck will only be playing in zero fun nights when I can find a lan cafe and its not frezzing cold in the ACT.

So, that the score, maybe in 8-12 months I may try to move in the ACT or back to Sydney, I really dont know, but life is going to be strange without a high speed broadband connection.

NooooOOOooOOooooo.... bly, we'll miss u! Life will just not be the same without you cap'n bly

I don't blame u tho.... it's a very brave decision you're making.... u gotto have priorities and a good balance... maybe it's a good idea to get a broadband connection with a LOW monthly limit

when you're sitting in your room playing single player missions, remember us out there, having a blast

it'll be great to see u from time to time tho, like when Chopper gets in and massacres us with his AK on his dial-up connection... it's all good
