Asus A7N8X problem
Asus A7NbX-Deluxe
AthlonXP Barton 2600+ 2 x Kingmax 256 DDR400 WindowsXP is unstable (reboots) and auto aquired clock settings don't look correct. (too low) FSB=100MHz Multiplier = 11.5 If I manually up the clock settings it gets more unstable. Would expect the FSB to be 200 or 400 (DDR400) Is this brand of RAM incompatible with this Asus MoBo? Anyone got any ideas

When you up the FSB, at which point exactly does your machine start suffering instability problems? Is your RAM speed settings at default? As for your DRAM voltage, what is that currently set to? Keep in touch mate. |

The machine is unstable all the time, without uping any settings. (Most apparent problem is spontaneous reboots that need a power cycle to recover.) All the MoBo clock setting are in their auto/default settings. I've now cleared the CMOS once and upgraded the BIOS to 1.007, without fixing the problem. Some BIOS clock settings are:- CPU External Freq = 100MHz (choices are 100,133,166,200) CPU Freq Multiplier setting = Auto CPU Freq Multiplier = 11.5 (established auomatically) Memory Freq = Auto (choices are by SPD,Auto) Resulting Freq = 200MHz CPU Voltage = 1.65V DDR Ref Voltage = 2.6V AGP VDDQ Voltage = 1.5V AGP 8x Support = Enabled AGP Fast Write Capability = Enabled (BTW - The Vid Card is a Saphire Radeon 9200SE.)

Try upping the voltage for your RAM modules up a little from the default 2.6v and see if this increases system stability.

Fixed it -
Changing the RAM setting from SPD (was the default) to AUTO solved all my problems. I thought I tried this before, but maybe not in the correct combination with other settings.
