ftp timeout

I am not sure if this is a problem with the ftp server or my end, I am using cuteFTP 4.2.5 and win98. Just recently I've been unable to use ftp for my site, because the connection times out while it is authenticating me (a few days ago it worked fine) -

STATUS:> Connected. Authenticating...
COMMAND:> USER Ironfist5 ffs
331 User Ironfist5 ffs OK. Password required
COMMAND:> PASS ********
ERROR:> Timeout
ERROR:> Can't log in. Still trying...

this repeats multiple times...any ideas?

Yeah a few people reported this. It seems to be fixed now, and I am unsure as to what the problem was.
