Default Friday Night RCON.

Guys,

Im getting a little frustrated with the Rcon on Friday nights.

The server starts a map and one of us use rcon change the map for whatever reason.

Its ruins the Friday night fun to a degree, for me anyway.

Judging from the way non zeros and non VIP's leave the server, its a little annoying for others seeing we have the server open.

I guess what I'm asking is, are there other zeros a little frustrated and if so, should map changes be left to the majority vote over the coms. Only Zeros and some VIPs get the vote. Then one admin say, Rem, is permited to change the map.

BUT if you have admin to the server, feel free to regulate the dick head factor, e.g. Flashing Spawn, fowl language, bad sortsmanship, cheating(SS and Insty first on my list ).
The usual crap.

Fun nights, maps, get boring quick. So i take the oppotunity to change the map when people ask (otherwise we would have an empty server), and I agree. How long can you play lineup3 for?

I try to make it a little bit interesting w/ matrix mode (sv_airaccelerate = a negative) and low grav.

And we do regulate the dickhead factor, rems gives warnings to them, I kick on sight (I am the CS Nazi, Zig Hail!)

The map pack is available, although there seemed to be some problem w/ cs_clan1_mill but we'll work that out.

that friday night where oro kept changing map every 15 mins thru the various custom maps I actually really really enjoyed! OK, I had most of the maps myself (all but 2 which i d/led off the server) - but i actually enjoyed that night a lot, partly due to the use of cool maps and variety, but mostly cos of the great zero crowd

i personally DON'T like it when ppl change map without warning! Map change via a vote, or via voice comm's or chat is OK. Announcing the map change via "rcon say..." i really like, and i usually try to do that when i change map (or at least via some other form of comm's)

I don't mind it if other ppl change map (takes the pressure of me ), so long as it is done thoughtfully (via some kind of vote) and it's announced first!

Bly - would that make it more enjoyable for you?

I like custom settings for variety, eg. low gravity, or matrix mode, etc.

It's supposed to be a fun night (for a majority), and we do need to work at that - so suggestions like this are good

I can make a list of bits to make it better, but I would have to spend more than my budgeted $2.00 on hookers.

Oh... You mean in the on-line game.

Just more warning when the maps’ going to change andlet’s stick to the maps longer unless a vote says otherwise. If we can get some more maps up on the server. Its a pain for a week or 2 cause everyone has to download them from the server. Remember on new maps to look for the spectators list, those people are downloading the map. At least let them finish so if we play that map again we can jump straight in.

Last week on 2 occasion people were downloading the map for some time and then the map was changed.

Anyway, that’s my cry for the night

sounds great to me bly

so map changing guidelines are (ORO read this!):
* give warning before changing map
* don't change maps within 20 mins unless a vote says otherwise
* let ppl download new maps completely and get in and use the map b4 changing it!
* yay 4 ozgl5 where we can do this, and pls add more maps

I guess, its got to be fun.

We just need to have little more thought as admins on our server nights before we drop into spaming the consol with rcon commands.

Anyway, lets get back to abusing each other and the Oro bashing we love so much.

Opps, did I type that, where is the Liquid paper.

sv_gravity 10000
sv_gravity 800
*resume play*

oro - read the above again! (oro was a vnb on Friday )

and we should add to that:
* when using fun grav/matrix mode etc, leave the settings stable for a while without constantly changing settings all the time
