![]() I've had major problems in updating via steam over the past 2 weeks.... so much so that the last 2 Friday night fun nights have been stuffed. Tonight I found the cause - it's cos Internode sucks! My steam client has been trying to get content from internode - which is INCREDIBLY SLOW and usually times out. Being bigpond, I should be using the GA content servers, and the CS legend "whisper" has researched this problem and found a way to force bigpond people to use the GA content servers http://whisper.ausgamers.com/steam/content.htm
Now the updates happen at the lighting speed they should.... like 5Mbps, so no more sucky steam update problems for me ![]() If anyone else is having this problem too, then try the fix in the above! ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() hehehe
i guess it the interface between Bigpond and Internode that's the real problem - i suspect it's more to do with competition and politics than a straight technical problem ![]()
