fans
I ripped some old fans out of old power supplies, but their connectors are only 2pin old school
any way to rig them up to the new motherboard which provides for 3 pin connectors only? |

Tack
I did a bit of a seach for you and found nothing in regards to "2 pin to 3 pin adapters" for case fans. I'm sure there is a way of doing it but you find it'll most probably not be of standard and convenional ways. Personally, if it were me I would just rather go out and buy a proper case fan for my PC but hey, that's just me. Maybe some of the other guys here may be able to make a few suggestions for you. |

Don't even bother
Case fans are $10 each The ones out of PSU's are probably worn badly anyway and will be noisy |

i think 2 pin and 3 pin connector is just a matter of soldering
Id bet that the wires are probable +-5v and ground, the 2 pin probable grounds out somewhere else |

Er, call me country bumpkin, but arn't PSU fans case fans without the sensor wire? That would make the most sense.
P.S. Gravedigging is fun =P |
