***laughs sarcastically*** BHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! ***then stops sudenly***

well.... i'll try and explain....

D&D = Free

Warhammer = $$$

Ya, get my picture?! some of my friends play Warhammer 40k, and Fantasy.. It looks fun, but cant be bothered buying it, painting it, and playing it...

Why should I pay to get my 'RPG' fix, when I can play D&D for free?!?!?!

in AD&D it takes too long to make an adventure and stuff. when i roleplay i dont use dice or books i make it up as i go along. sometimes i give myself guidlines though, with paper to remind me of SOME things like players gold and EQ and stats but thats it. And a world map. and some other notes.....
and i guess i take heavily from the AD&D rules but i dont like some like the "1 spell per day" thingy. i always use MP Mana Points. i use realisticness to a degree (erm ) and human randomness. if my player isnt smart in a situation i get him hurt. and ive done some ones in the future.
havnt done it for a while now though.
only 3 of my friends are interested in role paying and one is really stupid and its painful to try to play with him.

hahahaha elad, being a dwarf player in fantasy. i played D&D the other day as a dwarf lol we walked into a village i went straight for the Pub (as any dwarf would) began to drink me about 2 beers at once . and i started a braul when they realised i had no money lol i ran out side got my axes ran back in and the DM took it out on me he got everyone inside to charge me pick me up (and in my drunkin state i could do nothing but swing) they chucked me down a well lol.
and the DM had me stay in there for an entire day lol.

DF: Fighting all the time is shit... you need storys, adventure.... any newbie DM can make battles, but ture blue DM's put in adventure, and storys, riddles, and other interesting things....

Also a big thing is.... Imagination... it's a big factor...

And killing players is very shun-full, unless they ask for it....

probability is an invention of the human mind. there is no such thing as chance.

Dark_Flash: so your saying there is no such thing as fate, chance or probability? ok maybe some people belive that... but I dont, well sort of...

Ok answer me this, how can you say probability is an invention of the human mind?! eg. You have 4 pairs of socks all the pair are different colours, now your blind-folded, and the socks are randomised in a pile on the floor, how many socks would you have to pull out to ensure you have a pair of socks the same colour?

The game should revolve around the toss of the dice, alltho I allso belive that the DM should be able to 'fudge' the dice as he see's put, other wise his adventures can become ruined, and spoilt for the players...

But still it should only happen if the DM see if the adventure isn't going where it should...

Hero: Nah dude, I haven't played the Asian series thingy of D&D, not realy that interested in them... I either play the original or the vampire/medievil mod (I forgot what it's called) both with powergaming, epic level w/ Prestige class's... they are sweet as...

elad - whichever sock i choose is chosen. the other socks arnt.
the "probability" of the sock i chose is 100% and for the others its 0%
it is based on whats on top or whats where i put my hand, not by "chance" although the human mind invented chance because it is impossible for us to know what is where, and we dont know the future so chance can help predict the real events. it cannot dictate though.
a die will land according to how high u drop it from, how you spin it, and what angle it hits the ground and what the surface of the ground is and also other forces e.g. wind will influence.

huh? all I asked you to do is pick up your sock untill you get a pair the same colour... anyways I dont get your answer verywell, it confused me.

eh... anyways....the maximum amout of sock you would have to withdraw would be 5...

Can you predict the future? can you make random numbers in your head?

I agree that the dice is not totaly random... I understand that outside forces, and human influences can have huge effects on the number.

to creat total random numbers, you have to be in a weightless vacume sealed enviroment, have a liquid of some sort preferably a molten metal, have it poured from a container of some sort. Doing this will create totaly random blobs of metal, when they harden you then have to find out the cubic millimeters of it... that will give you a totaly random number....

you could do that every game... or you could used a dice, it's not perfect, but it dose a better than the molten metal...

I know, I am very strange...

oh lets not try to argue so much about this.

letme say this though.
me and my friends have fun when we play this version. being a good DM doesnt necisarily mean u have the most fun u can have. its like a nintendo game verses the latest MIAAD graphics, perfect to detail WW2 simulator.
and ill end by saying: chance doesnt exist, but the human mind has made it exist. just like maths. 3 is not a real thing. its just a way for us to .... count things and convey what we mean to people.
