im baaaack (this time i copied from zero forums)
for those of u who forgot i went to america 2 weeks ago.
twas fun. stuff happend. the reason i had to go was 1. dad had a conference at a 5 star hotel in utah or something. 2. uncles 60th surprise birthday party in LA. other things i did include: completely read 2 books, plus about 600 pages of another 800 page book (i had already read 200 when we left) watched a lot of TV. slept. went mountain biking. (the highlight of the trip) went dune buggying. (also the highlight. very fun.) 5 STAR HOTEL BABY!!! OH YEH! missed 5 days of school NS 2.0 coming out in a few days right?

hmm it's possible I may not be back until late Friday or even Sat night.. either you can wait til i get back, or download and install NS2 on the server yourselves..
1. wget (http) or ftp (ftp) to get the file 2. mv file to hlds_l directory 3. gunzip and tar -xvf to unpack it 4. nohup hlds_run -game ns +map.... to run it (alternatively use "screen" instead of nohup) use "locate" if you can't find where stuff is. You need to run "updatedb" as root to get it to see new stuff you've added to the filesystem. Unfortunately either the current Linux kernel or the filesystem version I'm using (ext3) has a memory leak or some other problem. It might be worse rebooting the box. Running updatedb chews up a lot of memory that doesn't get released, so you may need to reboot if you do that. You can see the box stats, including free memory at: http://whc.kicks-ass.net/
