The only "sim" games that have ever interested me for longer than 30 minutes have beem.

Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 (a few weeks)
and
Ski Resort Tycoon 1 (I need to find 2!! was best game ever! I want 1 aswell, but lost the install files =(!)

simcity and sim earth were HUGE fun games!!!! I played both for HOURS!!! OK, that was over 10 years ago, before the days of CS
