I want to muck around with moveable type at home. It needs perl and DB_File Perl module OR MySQL & DB:mysql.

Is there any windows based server software that i can use?

You'll need to install Perl separately no matter what Win32 webserver software you use. Same with MySQL and PHP. Apache is definitely the way to go, though.

i have had problems installing PHP onto apache. i'll admit apache is a superior thing to use, but i haven't been able to get things like parsing variables in links to work. i can also have it be either index.php and index.html as the main page. i cant make it do whichever one is in the folder
